Achieve a Balanced, Refined Look

Zepbound®: A Medical Weight Loss Option That Works With Your Body

Zepbound® is a prescription medication designed to support weight loss in adults with obesity or weight-related health concerns. Administered once weekly by injection, it is part of a comprehensive, medically supervised program offered at our clinic. Unlike quick fixes or fad diets, Zepbound® regulates appetite and metabolism by working with your body’s natural hormones, making it easier to reduce cravings, feel full, and lose weight sustainably over time.

How Zepbound® Works

Zepbound® contains tirzepatide, which activates two hormone receptors: GIP (Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide) and GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1). These hormones naturally help control hunger, slow digestion, and manage blood sugar levels. By mimicking these signals, Zepbound®:

  • Decreases appetite and food intake
  • Prolongs feelings of fullness after eating
  • Helps regulate insulin and glucose levels
  • Supports steady, sustained weight loss

By targeting both GIP and GLP-1 receptors (instead of GLP-1 alone), Zepbound® may provide greater metabolic benefits than medications like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, or Mounjaro® for some patients.

Comparing Zepbound® to Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro®

Ozempic® and Wegovy® (semaglutide) are GLP-1 receptor agonists that primarily focus on the GLP-1 receptor. While they effectively manage blood sugar levels and promote weight loss, they do not activate the GIP receptor.

Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) is similar to Zepbound® in that it targets both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. However, Mounjaro® is primarily marketed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, whereas Zepbound® is specifically tailored for weight management, potentially offering more targeted benefits for those focused on weight loss.

The dual action of Zepbound® can enhance appetite control and improve metabolic responses, potentially leading to more significant weight loss and better overall metabolic health for some patients.

Let’s Get Started

What’s Included in Your Program

Our clinical team in Portsmouth will guide you through a structured, personalized plan. Each patient receives:

  • A comprehensive initial evaluation, including a body analysis
  • An order for lab work and a review of results to ensure safety and eligibility
  • One-on-one time with a licensed provider to discuss your history and goals
  • A clear, customized treatment plan tailored to your body and lifestyle
  • At-home injection instructions and support (you’ll self-administer weekly)
  • Ongoing monthly in-person or virtual visits to monitor progress and adjust dosage if needed
  • Access to continuous support from trained clinical staff

Please note that while we will write an order for bloodwork and review it, the cost of the bloodwork is not included in the program price. Additionally, we will send a prescription for Zepbound® to Lilly Direct, and the medication will be mailed directly to your home. However, the cost of the medication itself is not included in the program fee.

Program Costs

  • Initial Program Cost: $250
  • Monthly Membership Fee: $100, which covers ongoing monitoring and support, dosage adjustments, and monthly prescriptions.

This is a holistic approach—not just a prescription. We’re here to help you stay motivated, manage any side effects, and implement lasting changes.

Who’s a Good Fit for Zepbound®?

You may qualify if you:

  • Have a BMI over 24 (overweight or obese)
  • Struggle to lose weight through diet and exercise alone
  • Have weight-related health concerns (e.g., insulin resistance, prediabetes, high cholesterol, etc.)
  • Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Do not have a history of certain thyroid cancers or pancreatitis
  • Are ready to commit to lifestyle changes alongside medical treatment

If you’re unsure whether this is the right approach for you, we’ll review all the options during your initial consultation.

What Results Can I Expect?

The cost of a Body Lift in Portsmouth, Boston, and the greater New England area depends on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the complexity of your case, the area of the target being considered, the surgeon’s, and the anesthetist’s fees. In general, the price of a body lift is around $9,000-$12,000. Patients are recommended to schedule their initial consultation to receive a treatment plan, which can then be priced out to arrive at a final cost.

Side Effects and Safety

Zepbound® is generally well-tolerated, but like any medication, it can cause side effects. The most common are:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Bloating or abdominal discomfort
  • Headache
  • Fatigue

These symptoms are often temporary and may subside as your body adjusts. We will assist you in managing any side effects if they arise. Rare but serious risks include:

  • Pancreatitis
  • Gallbladder problems
  • Kidney issues
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Risk of thyroid tumors (Zepbound® carries a boxed warning for medullary thyroid carcinoma)
  • Low blood sugar (especially in patients using diabetes medications)

Your safety is our priority. That’s why we begin with lab work and continue to monitor your health throughout your treatment.

Why We Offer Zepbound®

Many of our surgical patients come to us with BMI levels that may be too high for certain procedures. For these individuals, losing 20-30 pounds prior to surgery can be crucial for achieving optimal results and minimizing complications. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to look and feel their best, and Zepbound® can be an essential part of that journey.
